Reviews for Sony BRAVIA KDL55EX720 55-Inch 1080p 3D LED HDTV, Black (Electronics) *UPDATE* May 19, 2011
I've had this TV for over a month now, and simply needed to offer an update:
Picture: CUSTOM SETTINGS! Out-of-the-box, the image is not the optimum quality. There is a few graininess, a noticeable soap opera impact and some blockiness with transferring pictures. EVERY owner should calibrate the surroundingss to their liking. Also, it can be very important to turn off the ECO sensor -- your TV will be so much, a lot brighter. I followed the customized environments on flatpanelshd.com, where the evaluationer tweaked the settings for best picture output, down to developed environments like B-Gain and R-Gain. From there I messed around with the different settings unless I discovered a image I'm more than pleased with.
Comparison: Two of my friends bought a 55-inch LG LW5600 and I've spent a excellent time watching their TVs. The LG makes use of passive threeD so the glasses are tremendous cheap and comfy -- I hate to assert it, however the 3D on that TV most probably seems to be higher overall. They also brag about an 8 million to 1 distinction ratio whereas the Sony EX720 is 2 million to 1. What that implies is the LG has a brighter range of vivid colors. BUT after tweaking my atmospheres, I was in a position to get similar shade end results AND the image on the Sony is now noticeably clearer -- you could not get a cleaning soap opera effect on the LG for these who tried. The MotionFlow 240 actually appears to make a distinction as I can see wrinkles on The Most Interesting Man in the World's face that I couldn't see on the LG. Plus the LG had plenty of choppiness when watching sports, it might have been the cable or the TV's 120hz processor.
Still a five-star score for a clearer image than the LG and stronger picture with tweaked environments. Original evaluate below.
*From April*
Picture: Very excellent. Granted I used to be looking at a 37-inch LCD that was nearly six yrs outdated, so even gazing a crayon drawing on wax paper could be an improve. But I watched ESPN HD, Avatar HD in HBO and a bunch of different random things.
Reviews for Sony BRAVIA KDL55EX720 55-Inch 1080p 3D LED HDTV, Black (Electronics) Ok - Three months of digging and I needed to discover a submit that had EVERYTHING I was on the lookout for sooner than and after I received a TV - so I grouped all that I found and am submiting it - hope its helpful.
"Motion waft 240 technology" isn't the comparable as the refresh rate!! This television is 160 MHz - which is perfectly tremendous. Don't be fooled differentwise! I wish to maintain as so much money in my pocket as I can.. I assume the similar for differents.
I poured over every evaluation, article, MFG web site and prime ten list for approximately three months before I picked this TV. My center of attention used to be Samsung, LG, Vizio, Sony. All of them mentioned roughly the same skinnygs:
1. a hundred and sixtymhz and 240mhz have very refined, undetectable variations when viewing.. The giant distinction is the higher number and value. - Marketing ploy.
2. 3 D is great to have.. Maybe now not at this time but in a while, perhaps. The glasses aren't great to wear, "bulky", "cause headaches"(not certain on that one).. HOWEVER, I would reasonably have it as an possibility when spending this kind of cash then not~my concept.
3. Internet TV is a MUST HAVE (wifi OR wifi ready) -its where most the whole skinnyg is going now.
4. Blue Ray player w/Internet softwares and built in wifi - MUST HAVE
Cost was once a BIG issue - so according to that here's what I found
Vizio - $
Sony - $
LG - $$
Samsung - $$$
Features was once a BIG factor as well. To get all I needed within a low-cost price - Vizio and Sony had been high.
Reviews for Sony BRAVIA KDL55EX720 55-Inch 1080p 3D LED HDTV, Black (Electronics) Heard various unhealthy to mediocre overviews about this TV. I've owned it for roughly 1.5 months now and all I can say is: it is now not too bad. Like any TV out there, it is all in regards to the environments. Even the valueliest TV out there will seem to be worse with negative surroundingss compared to the more value-effective TV with proper/correct environments. And there may just be NO such skinnyg as a "perfect settings" for everyone. It's all about your non-public private style. I followed the colour temperature, gamma and white balance atmospheres from CNET, however the rest I adjusted according to my private likings and at last discovered a top settings that swimsuit my style. I cannot be happier.
Some of the items it could actually improve on: extra reveal uniformity, more stable stand, better sound (it's against the regulation of physics to have TV this thin and excellent speakers at the similar time). Hope this lend a hands your determination making.
